Free Resources

Over the years we have developed quite a pool of FREE resources that we thought designers would greatly benefit from. This is an ever-growing list, so continue to revisit this section of the site periodically. These are not necessarily ALL the free design resources out there, just the ones that we use most frequently to complete a project.

Wordpress.org

For years, CMS (Content Management System) for websites was either difficult to implement or an expensive endeavor. Enter Wordpress. Launched initially as a blog platform, Wordpress has developed a community-based system that is a great CMS solution.  All of Ameliorate’s latest sites are running off of a Wordpress backend.  There are thousands of plugins, and themes to choose from to build upon to make your website ‘designer friendly’ and functional.  They are always working on developing with the latest web technology and standards, so you know that you are keeping up-to-date with the industry.

Vimeo.com

If you are looking for a place to host your videos in a less ‘trashy’ environment than YouTube, check out Vimeo.

Stock.XCHNG

Finally a stock image website that doesn’t charge you an arm and a leg for high resolution photos.  This site is filled with textured backgrounds, abstract photography, etc. All you have to do is create an account with them (free of course) and you are set to search away. This is a great resource that us at Ameliorate use daily.

Vecteezy.com

Vector artwork that is downloadable in its’ rawest form.  Anywhere from web icons to detailed vectors, you will find what you are looking for.

Brusheezy.com

Same stupid name, but GREAT resource for finding Photoshop brushes to provide texture within your .psd files.

1001Freefonts.com

The name of the link says it all. Whether you design from a Mac or a PC, you will find tons of fonts to design with.
